Not that crafting requires a great deal of energy, and certainly no one ever needs to twist my arm for me to want to do it, but since my last post, there had been no crafting at all. Not one peg, sheet of felt, or paintbrush was taken out. I had been so exhausted, I couldn't even find the energy to craft. Because the little bit of energy I had, I had to use to care for my children and work. Turns out I was low on iron, (obviously I hadn't been a good girl and didn't stick with my green smoothies), but thanks to a diet wake up call and adjustment (aka actually drinking and eating my greens) and a few supplements later, I am feeling better and am getting back on track.
So yesterday, when my friend's daughter came over for a play date and sleepover, I knew I'd have the chance to get some things done. Nothing like adding an extra kid to the mix to keep your busy and content for hours!
So I got started on painting this pirate ship for a pirate play set I am making for the shop. I can't wait until it's done, I think it will be adorable, don't you think?
I also had time to take out my wood burner and watercolours and finished this memory match game.
All that's left to do is to polish it and sew a draw string bag for it before I list it. And for that bag, I am going to use this awesome rainbow fabric I scored at the thrift store. I was lucky enough to find 3 yards of it! Oh how I love thrifting!
So here you have it. The reason why I hadn't posted in a couple of weeks, and now you are all caught up on my on going projects. I better go do some polishing why my kids friend is still here, because once she leaves, who knows if the kids will allow me to work on anything, lol.
Do your kid do that too? Hover over you to see what your doing, or keep asking if they can paint your stuff for you, etc? I am betting it's natural!
Arrrrr!!! What a crazy awesome pirate ship! ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd the memory game - just beautiful, something to pass down to the grandchildren ;)
Oh you're so lucky to have 2 kids - I think the two still keep themselves busy together, no? I find my one is bored constantly with no matter what we do - even in the middle of me playing with her she declares I'm bored!
This week was great because we had her friend come for a couple of full days. It was really the easiest parenting I've ever done ;D lol
Love your new projects. Keep taking good care of yourself! Your kids need you!
ReplyDeleteYes! I have hovering kiddos as well!! Never fails, no matter how engrossed they are in their play as soon as something comes out fo rme to work on they are right there!
ReplyDeleteThe pirate ship is fantastic.
