Mini vacation :: Winter Wonderland

A few months ago, we booked a cabin for a few days last week. The timing of it was impeccable. Life has been so crazy these past couple weeks, (hence the lack of posts), as we are trying to buy a house and my hubby works away, so I've been dealing with most of the things by myself. Going on this mini family vacation was just what I needed! I was so stressed!

So last Wednesday, we drove off to Valemount, BC to stay at a cabin. The plan was that my hubby would be gone during the day sledding with his friends in the mountains, while I would hang out with the kids at the cabin and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Being March, weather can be unpredictable, but I was really hoping for some beautiful winter weather. And beautiful winter weather we got!

There was lots of outside play, sledding on shovels (by Ashton ;),

nature walks,

and more sledding.

I even played snow baseball with Ashton one day that the snow was super sticky, made a snowman with Arianne, built forts and caught snow flakes on our tongues.

The cabin was perfect. And I mean absolutely perfect.

We had fresh snow falling each day, and everything looked so magical!

I ended up not bringing any crafting with me, but I did bring my school books. And you know what, I didn't do any of that either. I thought I'd miss crafting, but I actually quite enjoyed the break.
It was cozy, perfect and in those 4 days, I really de-stressed, resourced, and enjoyed every moment spent with my family. My kids also reminded me how to play and be a child at times, and that felt so good.

Now I am back home, back to real life, and ready for anything life has to trow at me :)

Happy Monday!
