What a crazy past few weeks!
Life events have been getting in the way of my blogging, but I am choosing to actually live my life more to the fullest, and not set life aside for blogging. But now that I have a moment, I thought I would put you up to date.
So it's official, we bought a house!!! And best of all, we take possession in exactly a month from today! I can't even begin to describe how happy we all are. Living in an apartment with young children has not been easy. Especially since our hearts have been somewhere in a distant horizon, somewhere with a big yard, tress, and a garden (and a garage for my hubby). We didn't know where that was yet, but that's where our hearts (and minds) have been for the past few years. Now, we know where it is. It's at our new house. Our future home. The place not so far from where we currently live, and a place I just realized, I have mentally moved in already, lol.
It's a perfect house for us, and just to go look at it, it already felt like home to us. Home. A feeling I have been really missing. Sure our apartment has all our things in it, but it never felt like home the way this house feels like home (even without any of our own things in it yet).
I can't wait to move our things and settle in. Give each room our own touch of love. And best of all, we are moving early enough that we'll be able to plant a garden for summer! I can't wait start making happy memories there with my little family, and share lots of great times there with family and friends!
So on one hand, I have half my head in the clouds, dreaming of a not so distant future, and the other half of my head is caught in the reality of things. Packing almost the entire place myself since hubby is away, trying to craft enough things for a fair coming up in a few weeks, keeping up with everyday life, coming to realization that I am falling behind on my schooling, and, today, taking my son to get tubes put into his ears.
He had a little surgery this morning, due to all the reoccurring ear infections he had in the past. A couple of weeks ago, he finally saw the specialist. And even though his last ear infection was months ago, he still had fluid in both ears. The specialist figured my son only had about 80% hearing in both ears. I tried to reassure Ashton that it was to help him get better, I explained the surgery to him, did everything I could to make him feel better, but he was so scared this morning. Then, right before surgery, he was overcame by a wave of bravery. What a little trooper he was! Surgery went well and I can tell you, I noticed almost immediately that his hearing got better when he heard something I whispered. He would not have been able to hear that a few weeks (even months) ago. Yay! He even told me he didn't noticed hearing the birds chirp until today (since this spring arrived I mean). How great is that?!
And soon enough, he'll be able to hear the birds chirping right from our very own backyard :)
Life is good. Busy, but very good. And my heart is so happy, it almost sparkles.
Aw, congratulations! So happy for you! Can't wait to see pics.

Our son had the tubes too and it improved his hearing and health overall. And it took about 15 minutes! I'm sure your boy will feel so much better.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new house! It's so exciting moving into a new home. And I'll bet you can't wait to start a garden. Enjoy the adventure!
Stephanie, I'm so happy for you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations my dear on your new home! Yay!!!! This will be so much fun and with spring coming - it's really the best time to move to your first home!
I'm sure you can't sleep at night with decorating the rooms in your head ;D lol
Hearing about your son with the surgery was a bit upsetting.... but I am so glad he's all good, and what joy for him to hear the birds chirping. So sweet ;)
Kisses.
Ella
